Meet the Author
I can read your mind.
Well, maybe not. But common sense tells me that if you're here, you must want to know a little bit more about me. And I'm perfectly content to lay aside attempts to read random people's minds and instead satisfy your curiosity.
My name is Aubrey Han. As of December 2024, I am fifteen years old. In the words of Andrew Clements, in his book The School Story, "Just like all great writers, [she] started out as a reader." That describes me perfectly! I've been reading for longer than I can remember, and probably longer than my little brother has been alive. Depends on what counts as reading.
I wrote my first little story about a girl and her horse when I was maybe seven or eight. It wouldn't be the next Lord of the Rings (as you'll soon find out, I'm a HUGE Tolkien fan), but ever since then, I knew I wanted to be an author.
When I was nine, I created a character named Shadow, and in my head, I began crafting her story and her world. I would lie awake at night, going on adventures with her and telling myself her story. After about a year, I decided to try to write her story down.
So I started my first real project, The Story of the Shadow, at ten or eleven years old. I was just learning to type on a computer, and my writing skill grew along with my typing speed. It took me a year to finish that 60K-word story, and I spend another three years playing with it, editing it, cutting things out, and adding things in. Still not terrific, and still not the next Chronicles of Narnia. (Oh, did I mention, I'm a C.S. Lewis fan as well? If you've never heard of these two authors, I highly encourage you to go and read their books. Like, now.) But it only got me more hungry to write. I set that project off to the side, began a rewrite of it at my leisure, and tried again.
Fast forward today, and I'm hard at work on my big project: Keepers of the Fire Stones, as it is currently titled. (I go through a lot of title changes.) And while I was absolutely certain with every project that this project would be my MASTERPIECE, with this project I am totally, absolutely, wonderfully certain. I'm on a plan to finish it by August 2025 and am hoping to have it self-published by January/February of 2026!
Aside from reading and writing, my hobbies are playing the piano, graphic design (character collages, logos, etc.), and whatever other craft/art that happens to catch my fancy! I've been playing the piano since I was four, and I've just started composing my own pieces. I'm an amateur poet (as you can see by my homepage), an amateur artist, and I love to sing.
And... I think that's all about me. If you have any questions, or would just like to say hi, please feel free to reach out to me at imaginationreawakened.ahan@gmail.com! Welcome to the world of Imagination Reawakened!

Reader, Author, Dreamer
I dreamed of a song, I heard it sung
In the ears of my soul its strange notes rung.
What were the words, I could not tell,
Only the words I heard right well.
A voice with a wild melodious cry
Reaching and longing afar and high.
Sorrowful triumph, and hopeful strife,
Gainful death, and new-born life...
From A Dream Song by George McDonald
